It can be caused by excess bacteria from many different sources, not just tampons and should be treated as soon as possible. It does not turn into hiv/aids or any other kind of std, but will grow worse if left untreated and will cause further problems. Keep the area clean and dry, go to your gynecologist and get it treated promptly and ask if you can use a regular vinegar/water douche to control the discharge. Don’t try to douche before you see your doctor because you want your doctor to be able to diagnose it correctly first.

i agree.. it can caused by many things and anything that is inserted can potentially become contaminated.

I don’t agree with using a douche. Please avoid because it may be more dangerous than useful. The only thing i recommend is to wash the area with soap and water and pat dry.

If you don’t get it treated, you will get more uncomfortable but will not progress to std or hiv. but you should definitely try to get an appointment with your dr.

It can be caused by many many things, I have always gotten it during pregnancy. It is 100% curable with a nasty metallic tasting pill. It does not tur into any other STD. However you need to get medicine, nothing at home will help. If untreated in can cause infertillity as well as other problems if you do not have insurance go to a health department or planned parent hood.
